This year's update, developed in collaboration with USA Swimming, expands the criteria to acknowledge a broader range of teams and coaches contributing to age group development. The recognition focuses on athletes aged 10-14, with rankings based on the total number of AAA and AAAA+ athletes, as well as the percentage of athletes achieving these time standards relative to their club size. The dataset, provided by USA Swimming via SWIMS, incorporates weighted time standards from the USA Swimming Data Science team, ensuring a fair and accurate assessment.
The top 50 age group teams in each division are a testament to the dedication and talent of these swimmers and their coaches. The extra-large teams, comprising 351 or more swimmers, showcase the prowess of powerhouses like the NC SwimMAC Carolina and the IL Academy Bullets Swim Club. In the large teams category, which includes 176 to 350 swimmers, the FL Sarasota Sharks and the CA Aquazot Swim Club emerge as standout performers. These clubs have demonstrated exceptional coaching and athlete development, as reflected in their strong performances and high rankings.
The medium teams, ranging from 76 to 175 swimmers, feature a diverse group of clubs, including the CT Stamford Sailfish Aquatic Club and the NJ Lakeland Hills YMCA. These teams have shown remarkable progress and are poised to become future powerhouses in the swimming world.
Lastly, the small teams, with 1 to 75 swimmers, highlight the dedication and talent of smaller clubs like the AM Racer X Aquatics and the PV Dragon Swim Team. These teams, despite their size, have achieved impressive results and are making a significant impact in the swimming community.
